In each of the following questions, a statement of Assertion (A) is given and a corresponding statement of Reason (R) is given just below it. Of the statements, mark the correct answer as:
(a) If both A and R are true and R is the correct explanation of A
(b) If both A and R are true but R is not the correct explanation of A

1. Assertion: Antiserum contains antibodies, usually from an animal that has been deliberately exposed to a particular antigen.
Reason: Antiserum provides passive immunity that lasts for shorter period.
2. Assertion: Entamoeba histolytica, causing amoebiasis is 'dimorphic. Reason: Magna is the larger harmful form and minuta is the smaller harmless form of E. histolytica.
3. Assertion: Diabetes mellitus is caused by a failure of the beta cells of the pancreas to produce adequate amounts of insulin.
